Daniel Gibbings announces new outletTuesday, 4th October 2005 (4236 views) Jewellery designer Daniel Gibbings is set to open a new studio and showroom on Santa Barbara's Montecito Coast Village Road.Mr Gibbings, who trained in England and regularly works in gold, recently received a 2005 Reader's Choice Award from Coloured Stone Magazine. This is his third jewellery retail store and his open workspace approach has won him a string of fans since he started production over 20 years ago. "The process of shopping for jewellery is often just as significant and memorable as giving it or wearing it. This layout allows people to watch and understand a bit more about the jewellery as it's created - making it an experience, an event," he explained. As well as his retail pieces, Mr Gibbings also produces bespoke commissioned items, often made of high-carat gold. His latest collection is described as a "more refined line" featuring sapphires, diamonds, cabachons and yellow gold. His work is instantly recognisable by its primitive design sense, which produces hugely versatile pieces.
