Gold fishing lures which their manufacturer claims will "put the bling on your string" are available for purchase from MacDaddy's.

Crafted from solid 14-carat gold, the lures can be worn as jewellery or used as key rings in addition to their primary function of attracting fish.

Among the range of lures are solid 14-carat gold lures, gold plated lures and even specially made lures, which combine solid gold with diamonds, rubies and sapphires.

The company's jeweller Mac McBurney, who designs the lures, believes the properties of gold will attract fish.

"Nothing shines better than gold and diamonds in water," he told the New Times.

Prices start from $20 and go up to $21,000. The finely crafted pieces are aimed at the fishing and male jewellery markets, the latter of which is currently expanding.
