Monopoly goes goldFriday, 26th August 2005 (4540 views) Rather than playing the popular board game Monopoly this Christmas, consumers could be offering their loved ones Monopoly jewellery.SE Riordan Goldsmiths & Silversmiths are offering a limited edition sterling silver charm bracelet, which features the Monopoly pieces, to commemorate the 70th birthday of the board game. Only 1,500 bracelets are available and each comes with a certificate of authenticity in addition to the London Assay Office 2005 Hallmark. Hasbro who make Monopoly have supported the charm bracelets. Stephen Riordan told Vogue magazine that the charm bracelet "brings the story to a full circle" as Monopoly's inventor, Charles Darrow, was reportedly inspired by his wife's charm bracelet to create the game pieces. Riordan is also offering customers the chance to create their own Monopoly jewellery with a total of four charms costing £150 and Monopoly fans can even opt to have the charms in gold. The 15-year-old company Riordan Jewellers specialises in bespoke pieces, corporate presentation items and military needs as well as offering a range of more traditional pieces.
