Schlumberger's dazzling collection comes to WaikikiWednesday, 24th August 2005 (4478 views) Tiffany & Co is to display a collection of Jean Schlumberger's work at its Waikiki store, reports the Honolulu Advertiser.Schlumberger used to work at Tiffany & Co where he created many nature-inspired pieces and brought jewellery to royals and film stars alike. Amongst the pieces on display will be 'Leaves' rings, one of which is made of gold with an 11.99-carat rubellite and 120 diamonds. The Honolulu Advertiser also highlights some of Schlumberger's objets d'art like the 'Shrimp Basket Minaudiere' created in 1956 for Lyn Reyson and made from gold wire by following Asian basket weavers' techniques. Tiffany's New York store also displays a Schlumberger collection including some of his statement pieces. Currently available items from Tiffany's exclusive collection of Jean Schlumberger designs include an 18-carat gold circle rope bracelet and three leaves ear clips in 18-carat gold with brilliant diamonds set in platinum. Some of the Frenchman's collection can be viewed at Tiffany & Co's Waikiki store in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 23rd where modern reproductions will be on sale.
