Think pinkWednesday, 17th August 2005 (4304 views) Pink gold could be the latest trend after the recent rise of white gold and platinum.Pink or rose gold, which is created by adding copper to gold to make an alloy, is gaining popularity in fashion circles as jewellery designer Richard Alan from the Harbour Goldsmith in Florida indicates. "The newest trend in Europe this summer is rose or pink gold," he said. In response to this he has created a line of Euro-wedding bands that come in 14 or 18-carat gold in colours ranging from the traditional yellow gold to white through to rose and even green. He also predicts that Threader-style earrings that are solid gold yet lightweight will be hot this season. White gold adds palladium or titanium to gold in production, rose includes some copper and green uses either silver, copper or palladium to create a different tone. © Adfero Ltd
