Philippines to sell off Marcos jewelsTuesday, 16th August 2005 (4154 views) The Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) in the Philippines is to sell off the dazzling jewels once owned by Imelda Marcos, a former first lady.Within the collection, there is believed to be a yellow gold 30.71-carat diamond-studded bracelet possibly worth1.2 million dollars. When Sothebys independently valued the collection in 1990, the jewellery was judged to be worth between 4,194,920 dollars and 5,736,600 dollars. The collection consists of 89 pieces and the PCGG are in negotiations with several auction houses about selling off the jewellery. Mrs Marcos is currently having some of her assets seized and will have to face the courts. © Adfero Ltd
