The Sharjah Expo centre in Dubai will host the Indonesia Solo Exhibition in September, which will include a number of finely crafted gold pieces.

Indonesia is famed worldwide for its intricate jewellery designs, which are all hand-made and frequently unique.

Indonesian jewellery's history can be charted from ritual use to more ornamental use and was influenced by Western and other trends after the arrival of travellers in the area.

The show will probably attract many people as exhibitions in Dubai are big business and make a $1.5 billion contribution towards the country's GDP.

Fine gold fashion jewellery from all areas of Indonesia will be on show and available for purchase between September 19th and 23rd.

It is hoped this will promote awareness of Indonesian craftsmanship as the Indonesian government is currently trying to develop its jewellery manufacturing and aims to develop three centres in east, central and west Java.
