Stella McCartney is selling 14-carat gold bracelets in aid of the Humane Society, reports USA Today.

The humanitarian designer, who is well known for her refusal to work with fur and leather, has held a tea party at her clothes store in Hollywood to promote the bracelets designed by Alex & Anj.

Each bracelet comprises a mother-of-pearl attached to a 14-carat gold-filled wire bangle.

Celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Amy Smart, Emily Deschanel and Emmy Rossum joined Miss McCartney to support the Humane Society and to raise awareness of baby seals being hunted in Canada.

All proceeds from the $250 gold bracelet will go to the Humane Society.
