Thursday, 11th August 2005 (6104 views) AOL has launched the ' AOL Spammer's Gold Sweepstakes' in which users stand to win $100,000's worth of gold bars and cash in addition to a Hummer sports-utility vehicle.<br/><br/>The 33 gold bars weigh one ounce each and nine gold coins are also up for grabs in a draw that sees a spammer's possession being redistributed to AOL users.<br/><br/>The 'spam artists' were caught with the help of AOL users and AOL recently secured a $13 million payout against the other spammers.<br/><br/>In a drive to increase security awareness, AOL users can enter the draw by answering internet protection questions.<br/><br/>Spam is a major problem for many internet providers but AOL has announced that its spam levels have reduced by 85 per cent.<br/><br/>The most well-known type of gold bars are the widely traded 'London Good Delivery Bars', which weigh 400 troy ounces, or 12.5kg, rather more than those in the AOL sweepstake.<br/><br/><br/><br/><img alt="track" src='http://feeds.directnews.org.uk/feedtrack/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=15021558'/>© Adfero Ltd
