Handcrafted gold daisy in leukaemia fundraiserWednesday, 3rd August 2005 (4024 views) A specially commissioned and handcrafted 18-carat, yellow and white gold daisy pendant is among the raffle prices at Heroes and Hope the latest Leukaemia & Lymphona Societys fundraising night.Northeastern Fine Jewellery has donated the pendant, which depicts the charitys daisy logo and has a retail value in excess of $10,000 in the hope of raising both funds for and awareness of the Leukaemia & Lymphona Societys work. The event takes place at the Saratoga Golf & Polo Club, New York, and tickets costing $125 are available on the website: www.lls.org/unyheroes. As the world's largest voluntary health organisation, the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society has raised over $360 million for research into blood cancers during its 56 year history and both continues to support sufferers and work towards curing leukaemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. The designers, Northeastern Fine Jewellery, New York produce a range of products from gold wedding rings to 14-carat yellow gold baby bangle bracelets. The US is the worlds second biggest gold producer, contributing 11 per cent of mined gold in 2004.
