Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova ditched her sweaty cap and wristbands for something a bit more glamorous at this year's Annual ESPY Awards.<br/><br/>The ceremony that celebrates sporting achievements voted the young Russian the best women's tennis player.<br/><br/>She strutted along the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood sporting a gold serpent armlet wrapped around her bicep.<br/><br/>"I've never worn anything like this before," she said before the ceremony.<br/><br/>Speaking about her low-cut, open-back pantsuit outfit she said: "I don't know what vibe I'm going for today. I'm classy, yet sexy." <br/><br/>Among the other winners were Jennie Finch and the US softball team who jointly received the gong for best female Olympic performance.<br/><br/>Friday Night Lights picked up the award for best sports movie, beating off competition from Oscar winner Million Dollar Baby.<br/><br/>The ceremony, hosted by former Friends actor Matthew Perry, also saw Destiny's Child get an extra member for the night.<br/><br/>Tennis star Serena Williams danced onstage with the 'other' three girls to close the night's performance.<img alt="track" src="http://feeds.directnews.org.uk/feedtrack/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=16165462"/>
