A duo from San Francisco have launched a new line of jewellery that seeks to harness the "grace of the Victorian era" together with the latest in modern design techniques.

Dawn Tope and Amy Rose are offering what they hope will prove to be an "exquisite heirloom" – custom-made photographic charms, bracelets and earrings made of silver and 18 karat gold.

The charms come complete with a personalised photo, and are aimed at people seeking a personal touch when buying jewellery.

The waterproof items are finished with bevelled glass and come with a guarantee for their structural integrity.

Ms Tope said she not only wanted to "expand on the tradition of photographic jewellery, but also withstand time, water, cosmetics, sunscreen and perfume".
