First winners in Dubai jewellery competition announcedMonday, 4th July 2005 (4087 views) The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group has continued its drive to put Dubai on the map as the jewellery capital of the world by announcing the winners of its first ever Summer Surprises raffle, reports Stratigy.com.Dr Banfa, a Nigerian national won one kilogram of gold, while Ben Sli Mane from Tunisia received a one-carat Solitaire diamond. This is the first of ten planned raffles aimed at promoting the gold and jewellery industry in the town. Customers at 300 of the top jewellery outlets in Dubai are entered into the competition when they make a purchase. Shoppers who spend AED250 on gold jewellery are automatically entered into the raffle to win the kilogram of gold, while a purchase worth AED500 on diamonds will entitle the buyer to enter the draw for the one-carat diamond. The promotion is attempting to reach a younger market with citywide advertising that targets a slightly younger demographic than previous campaigns.
