Wednesday, 8th June 2005 (5458 views) Jewellery gifts are traditionally thought of as being something that women receive, but a new study has revealed that sales of fine jewellery are increasingly being bought for dads and granddads.<br/><br/>More and more consumers are choosing fine jewellery and watches in June as gifts for Father's Day and graduations, according to the National Jeweler. <br/><br/>A survey, carried out by the Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC), found that 55 per cent of consumers will purchase a Father's Day gift this year and almost ten per cent plan to buy fine jewellery.<br/><br/>Watches were the most popular Father's Day jewellery gifts, followed by fashion rings and bracelets. <br/><br/>There has also been a significant shift in popularity towards white metal for Father's Day gifts, with 38 per cent choosing to give yellow metal gifts this year, down from 63 per cent last year.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8701107"/>
