Tuesday, 7th June 2005 (5634 views) One of the world's leading dealers in rare antiquities from Western civilizations, Phoenix Ancient Art, has announced that it will be displaying its latest exhibit, "6000 Years of Jewels: Fine Metalwork and Jewellery from Antiquity" at the company's Manhattan gallery.<br/><br/>The exhibit was initially shown at the company's Geneva gallery in April and was met with excellent reviews for its insight into the tradition of ancient metalwork and jewellery.<br/><br/>The collection consists of 100 pieces, in a range of precious metals, dating from approximately the 4th millennium BC to the 13th century AD.<br/><br/>Hicham Aboutaam, co-founder of Phoenix Ancient Art, said: "It's a testament to the genius and accomplishments of ancient artists that we are still admiring their creations thousands of years later."<br/><br/>Originating from cultures throughout Western civilization, including Spain, Germany, Central Europe, the Balkans, Greece and Rome, Anatolia, the Levant and Mesopotamia, the collection presents a fascinating display of how the various civilizations used different metallurgic techniques to great effect.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8689531"/>
