Thursday, 2nd June 2005 (6107 views) New Zealand Post has produced a programme of three legal tender commemorative coins to mark the DHL New Zealand Lions Series 2005.<br/><br/>In association with The Royal British Mint, the innovative coin series features a design by artist Michael Guilfoyle depicting a running rugby player against an outline of New Zealand and the Lion's Crest. <br/><br/>The coins, like the actual tickets to games, are limited in number. <br/><br/>The issue consists of a 22-carat gold coin with a mintage of 1000, a sterling silver coin with a mintage of 5000 and a nickel-brass coin with a mintage of 50,000. <br/><br/>In addition to the coins, New Zealand Post has produced a stamp issue featuring two of the most infamous symbols in world rugby - the jerseys of the All Blacks and the Lions. <br/><br/>Both the commemorative coin programme and the stamp series will be available in post offices throughout New Zealand from June 1st 2005.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8650789"/>
