US goldsmith designs gold gift for rapperThursday, 12th May 2005 (4189 views) The bling credentials of a Greek-American goldsmith have been confirmed as he presents an original design to a rapper.The hip-hop singer from the Annapolis area received a 385-gram oblong necklace made of 14 carat gold and inlaid with hundreds of tiny diamonds - designed to match his gold teeth. John Kokkinos, of Ocean City, Maryland, created the one-off piece at his workshop. "That is bling bling," Mr Kokkinos said about the rapper's necklace, the Ocean Pines Independent reports. Mr Kokkinos, 45, has just qualified as a Certified Master Bench Jeweler - the highest level a jeweler can attain from the New York-based guild Jewelers of America. He is one of just 116 to have attained the prestigious accolade.
