Jeweller and watchmaker Chopard has teamed up with luxury goods retailers Mandala to unveil a new, limited edition Diamond OM pendant for Mothers' Day.

The Hindu and Buddhist symbol that embodies that eternal beauty "brings the celestial together with timeless sophistication and glamour" and is inspired by the spiritualism in South Asia, Chopard claims.

The limited gold and diamond series is crafted around the symbol of OM, the centre of Hindu and Buddhist religions and the universal symbol of peace, life, knowledge, power and strength.

The limited edition pendants feature a diamond studded OM symbol suspended between two pieces of sapphire crystal in 18k white or yellow gold. The Chopard logo is engraved on the rim of the pendant's circle and the limited edition number also appears on each piece.

A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to various charities in India with the primary focus on funding the provision of water to villages and relief efforts following natural disasters, such as flooding and the devastating tsunami last December.
