Friday, 6th May 2005 (5797 views) Blue Nile has seen its first quarter profits rise after a strong performance from the jeweller in the start of 2005.<br/><br/>Sales soared by 23.3 per cent as total sales hit $44.1 million.<br/><br/>Gross profit also rose, up to $9.7 million, as chief executive office Mark Vadon hailed "excellent sales and earning growth".<br/><br/>"These results demonstrate our ongoing ability to drive continued business growth while delivering strong profitability to our shareholders," he said. <br/><br/>"We are pleased with all areas of our business, and we are well-positioned to deliver on our 2005 goals."<br/><br/>The company says that sales for 2005 could yet surpass $200 million.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8440557"/>
