Basel World highlights latest trendsThursday, 5th May 2005 (5459 views) A host of new trends evident at this year's Basel World have been revealed.According to Rapaport, jewellery and watches for the high-end market were high in demand but even more commercial pieces were a hit. The most popular metals included white gold jewellery with diamonds and yellow, pink and multicoloured gold, used in innovative shapes and featuring stones. In addition, growing Italian brand Enrico Capra was popular the expo, offering rings with a soft diamond-studded white gold marine star on top and movable balls and chains. Spanish brand Carrera y Carrera impressed visitors with the Bambu collection, with a white gold and diamond pave necklace featuring the Bambu good luck charm the key item of interest. Other brands of interest using gold in an innovative way were Antonini, Stefan Hafner, De Grisogono, Navin Gems, Dalumi, Ruth Greco and Sofia of New York. In terms of watches Paris Hilton and Elini Design's new range of watches had visitors talking, with designs set to be launched in gold, platinum and diamonds.
