Tanishq launches gold prebooking schemeThursday, 5th May 2005 (4824 views) Tanishq has launched a new scheme whereby customers can prebook their gold jewellery in time for the festival of Akshaya Trithiya.Since the day is always particularly busy, the Indian jeweller is letting customers pay a token amount in advance in order to secure the designs they want. Rupal Sheth, brand manager, Tanishq, told News Today: "As customers go through a lot of inconvenience, waiting in long queues, and having to fend off milling crowds on the occasion; through this booking scheme one could walk in at any time, book a jewellery design of their choice by paying an advance and buy the same on Akshaya Thrithiya." In addition, people who use the scheme can obtain a ten per cent discount on the making charges of the ornaments and gold items they book. Before the festival, which takes place on May 11th, the showroom will launch a new collection targeted at female consumers. "Every year there is an increase of 50 per cent in customer turn out at our showrooms on Akshaya Trithiya. This prebooking scheme, only for South India, will further add to the number of walk-ins at our four stores on Cathedral Road, Anna Nagar, T Nagar and at the one recently opened at Adyar," Latha Padmanabhan, business manager, Tanishq, added.
