Golden expo to be hosted in IndiaMonday, 18th April 2005 (3906 views) Over 150 gold jewellery companies are expected to take part in a new gold exhibition in India next month.The Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition 2005 is the first business-to-business trade fair for India. More than 10,000 visitors from India and overseas are also expected to attend the event, which was organised by the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Merchants Association and the World Gold Council. The event will run from May 20th to 22nd in the Chennai Trade Centre. South India is the largest market for gold and gold jewellery in the country, making up almost half of its annual consumption of 600 tonnes of the precious metal.
