Wednesday, 30th March 2005 (6096 views) Gold necklaces are proving popular in the US as they help form the latest look for fashion followers.<br/><br/>This spring the approach is bigger is better and more is more, with one necklace not enough.<br/><br/>According to the Baltimore Sun, women are now wearing longer necklaces and layers of them, mixing gold necklaces with silver or gold necklaces with wooden beads.<br/><br/>In addition, gold necklaces and turquoise beads are also popular.<br/><br/>"We're moving away from the brooches that were so big last year and we're seeing a movement toward necklaces and the bracelet," said Glenn McMahon, president of Ellen Tracy. <br/><br/>"The longer necklaces seem to be really important."<br/><br/>Fashion magazines, department stores, runways and It girls have all be seen displaying the new trend, which is being dubbed as the must have accessory for the season.<br/><br/>"For spring, it's just necklaces galore," said Jodi L Brodie, co-owner of Treasure House in Owings Mills.<br/><br/>"The big thing about necklaces right now is layering.
