Monday, 14th March 2005 (5646 views) The tenth international Joya Chile show is set to take place this month in Santiago.<br/><br/>The show features watches, jewellery and precious stones and is dedicated to wholesalers, retailers, designers, importers and other industry professionals.<br/><br/>Running from May 23rd to 26th, the show is organised by Bernal & Cia, who claim Chile is an important trade destination since it has signed many bilateral and multilateral trade agreements that have helped open up its economy.<br/><br/>According to Rapaport, investors have access to nearly 1.2billion consumers.<br/><br/>In addition, Chile removed many countries from having to pay import tax on any type of gold and silver jewellery set with stones, diamonds or pearls.<br/><br/>The organisers also feel that the government's recent cut of tax on luxury goods, such as jewellery from 50 per cent to 15 per cent "is a notable advance for the development of the industry".<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8024545"/>
