Gold jewellery is in demand as Pakistani cricket spectators head to the shops when not watching the game.

According to IANS, Pakistanis visitors who have come to watch a 50-day long cricketing duel are also looking to trade, shop and view movies.

Within hours visitors had bought a host of items, with jewellery also an item of interest.

In particular, many visitors revealed they wanted to purchase Indian jewellery such as mangalsutras, a traditional gold chain with black beads that is worn by married Indian women.

In addition, Pakistan businessmen were seen in Chandigarh's busy Sector 22 and Sector 17 commercial centres selling their goods.
