Thailand looks to promote gold jewellery in IndiaMonday, 7th March 2005 (4074 views) Thailand is hoping to attract more trade and is focusing on the jewellery sector in particular, according to Deepika Global.The main attraction in Thailand's gem and jewellery collection is its distinctive 24-carat gold. A Thai delegation recently visited north-east India and promoted the jewellery, claiming Thailand is ideally placed to offer the latest in high quality fashion jewellery. Thai delegates were taking part in the 12th International Guwahati Trade Fair. The Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thai Gem and Jewellery Association have also recently set up a Jewel Fest Club, to help reassure customers on stone and quality reliability. According to the commercial councillor of the Thai Embassy in Delhi, Mr Tharadol, the recent advances in stone-cutting techniques are also helping to boost Thailand's jewellery, with its gold prized worldwide for its unique style and colour.
