Jewellers help make May the month for goldMonday, 7th March 2005 (3916 views) Top jewellery chains in the US are joining forces with the World Gold Council (WGC) to promote the precious metal and jewellery made from it.A number of brands including Finlay Fine Jewelry, JC Penney, Macy's West, Sterling Jeweler's, and Zales, have all announced their participation in the WGC's May is Gold Month campaign. The campaign was a huge success last year and 2005's campaign will include graduation, bridal, Mother's Day and spring fashion opportunities for the industry, according to National Jeweler. Retailers will offer exclusive gold jewellery collections and promotions in line with the campaign, which is also running alongside the WGC's year-long Speak Gold scheme. A $1 million national media campaign will also support May is Gold Month, with Marie Claire, Lucky and InStyle magazines all taking part. The national advertising and marketing campaign will also include a prize of a $5,000 gold jewellery wardrobe, in-store and in-mall messages and direct mail and online marketing.
