Strong support for Dubai PavilionMonday, 7th March 2005 (4023 views) The Dubai Pavilion has been warmly welcomed, as the Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre (DMCC) launched the purpose built building this week.A number of major jewellers represented the site at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and had to deal with a number of enquiries about the venue. In addition, a number of deals for Arabic style jewellery were also signed. Saeed Hamad AlJunaibi, consul general of United Arab Emirates (UAE), also visited the Dubai Pavilion during the show and expressed his satisfaction. He told AME Info: "Dubai's jewellery industry is growing in strength year after year and I applaud the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) in its efforts to promote this industry the world over." The pavilion was set up to highlight the city's accessibility and proximity to key gold markets and to show its status as a manufacturing hub for jewellery. According to the DMCC, 80 per cent of the pavilion space has already been booked by 65 companies and they have all confirmed their bookings. Among the jewellers featured in the pavilion are Damas Jewellery, Dhanak Jewellery, the Dubai Diamond Exchange, HV Jewellery and Thamina Jewellery.
