Audience members on the Oprah Winfrey show received a special surprise on Friday as stars Ashanti, Jessica Simpson and Lara Flynn Boyle gave them a pre-Oscars makeover.

The women, nominated by friends or family, included a chicken farmer, a young student fighting cancer and a single mum.

To help create the perfect look, the celebrities bought their own stylists to the show and the women were draped in Martin Katz jewellery.

In addition, fashionable gowns and beauty tips from the stars helped the women to look like celebrities themselves.

Martin Katz supplies a number of jewellery items for stars for occasions such as the Oscars.
