Australia hosts contemporary jewellery expoFriday, 18th February 2005 (3928 views) A new exhibition, held in Melbourne, is showcasing the latest in contemporary jewellery, with rings the main focus.Karl Fritsch was classically trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, but has been focusing on contemporary jewellery for 18 years, according to the Age. In the exhibition he combines diamonds, rubies, sapphires, gold and silver, but with innovative creations and designs. The Rings exhibition places precious materials in a contemporary content, with one ruby ring set in gold, but placed horizontally and partially covered by gold. A total of 50 rings are displayed in the exhibition.
