Monday, 14th February 2005 (3971 views)

America has completed its annual prize giving ceremony for the music industry, in a glittering affair at the 2005 Grammy Awards.

Jewellery caught the eye from a number of glamourous guests, including Eve's drop earrings from Alan Friedman and a selection of gold chains from Latino star Ricky Martin.

The theme was generally one of bangle bracelets and exclusive earrings.

The Grammys, which is widely regarded as the biggest prize-giving ceremony in the worldwide music industry, saw tributes paid to old legends and emerging talent.

Eight Grammys went to the late Ray Charles, while a lifetime achievement award was given for the former British Band Led Zeppelin.

Sixty-year-old rocker Rod Stewart also racked up the first Grammy win of his long career, taking the best traditional pop vocal album category with Stardust... The Great American Songbook Volume III.

Music veteran Annie Lennox also helped seal the 2005 Grammys for the music industry's golden oldies with her song The West, voted the best movie song for the final Lord of the Rings film.

Younger winners including Kayne West who won an award for the best rap album, and who picked up on the trend for sharp dressing, donning a white suit with diamond earring.
