Jewellery expo planned in LahoreFriday, 4th February 2005 (4278 views) The Punjab Tourism department has revealed plans for a jewellery exhibition and shopping festival to be held in Lahore.According to the Punjab minister for tourism, Mian Aslam Iqbal, the festival will be arranged with the cooperation of various trade unions and would offer discounted jewellery. Visitors will be issued a special ten per cent discount card by the department for the festival, which will be valid on all jewellery including gold, new and traditional designs, according to the Daily Times. As soon as the festival arrangements are set, various stores around the area will take part in the event and a special space will be set up in commercial plazas for jewellers to have stalls and displays. To help promote local gold jewellers, various measures are also being discussed, hoping to attract people from home and abroad.
