WGC helps launch new jewellery rangeTuesday, 25th January 2005 (4111 views) The World Gold Council (WGC) has launched a new gold jewellery collection in partnership with the Vicenza Fair to help promote the precious metal.Gold Expressions 2005 contains 430 gold jewellery pieces designed and made by 69 Italian goldsmiths, according to IDEX Online. James Burton, CEO for WGC, explained: "As in 2004, we expect these highly innovative and relevant collections to determine what will be in vogue in gold jewellery in the coming year. Many new chains, which have strong sales potential, are featured in this year's collection. "We are confident that the designs promoted in the 2005 collection will help fuel consumer demand within the global gold jewellery industry, as well as help to boost Italian exports of gold jewellery." According to a study by the WGC, gold consumers in key world markets felt that contemporary styles and designs of gold jewellery were lacking at point-of-sale. The 'Gold Expressions - The Language of Italian Designs' collection, aims to meet consumer demand with products that express emotion and appeal to a wide market range.
