Americans embrace fine jewelleryMonday, 17th January 2005 (4198 views) A new survey has revealed that more than 30 per cent of Americans wear fine jewellery every day, the National Jeweler website reports.Findings from the Longines Elegance in America survey, released last week, illustrate the growth in popularity of jewellery in the US. Respondents age 24 or older with an income of at least $75,000 own an average of 4.5 watches, the survey found. Meanwhile those who answered the survey consider the most elegant men's accessories to be cufflinks, watches and ties, with bracelets, necklaces and rings hailed as their female equivalents in terms of stylishness. The findings also indicated that jewellery plays a major role at formal occasions such as weddings, galas, fundraisers and award ceremonies. Respondents also felt that jewellery serves to accentuate the type of elegant outfits worn for these occasions, such as tuxedos for men and formal evening gowns for women.
