Monday, 10th January 2005 (6067 views) A prominent jewellery designer has created a pendant to be sold globally from which the entire profits will go to benefit children orphaned by the south Asia tsunamis.<br/><br/>Jane Taylor, best known for her ingenious design of the Chubby Bezel, said she was "overwhelmed with the desire to be useful".<br/><br/>The profits will go to supporting an orphanage in Sri Lanka.<br/> <br/>The piece named Rala - the Sri Lankan word for ' wave' - will feature two waves inside a circle and will be available in 14kt gold, 18kt gold and silver. It will be sold throughout the US at authorised Jane Taylor Jewellery retailers. <br/><br/>Ms Taylor began her business in 1994 with the intention of bringing heirloom quality, hand-made jewellery together with contemporary design. <br/><br/>She won the DeBeers Diamonds Today award twice- in 1999 for a three-stone right hand ring, and in 1996 for her Hinge-Click earring design. <br/><br/>She has also won two AGTA Spectrum awards for her use of coloured gemstones.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7530900"/>
