An exhibition showcasing one of the most important jewellery designing clans in Italy is currently taking place in New York.<br/><br/>The work of the Castellani family involves micromosacis, granulation and pure gold surfaces, using the technique of 'blooming', according to Diamonds.net.<br/><br/>Ancient techniques, the methods were nearly lost and are evidence of cultural aesthetics and the sophisticated roots of art.<br/><br/>The 'Castellani and Italian Archaeological Jewelry' exhibition is being held in the Bard Graduate Centre and hopes to give a thorough history of the decorative art of the goldsmith.<br/><br/>The exhibition is running until February 6th and is divided into sections to give a balanced overview of the jewellery and the Castellani family.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7502454"/>
