IJD show reveals new target market

Wednesday, 24th November 2004 (4661 views)

For the first time the International Jewellery Dubai (IJD) show is to focus on trade visitors, according to the event's organisers the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Being held from December 6th to the 10th, the event will have a new look and also include a greater number of sightholders - buyers and manufacturers, attending the show.

DWTC director general, Helal Saeed Khalfan al Marri, explained: "IJD 2004, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year is decidedly more oriented to the trade visitor and buyer.

"We have enhanced the focus on the trade aspect. While the show will be open to trade visitors and VIPs on the opening day, the next two days will have exclusive sessions for trade visitors and buyers."

The event timing has already been changed from April to December following research and feedback from previous events and the date is now at a convenient time in the international event calendar.

In addition, manufacturers meet buyers from across the Middle East in December, to help restock and prepare for the sales rush at the end of the year.

Exhibits will include gold jewellery, gemstones, costume jewellery, antique pieces and branded watches.
