Gold jewellery boosts French retail salesMonday, 8th November 2004 (4110 views) French retail sales of gold jewellery reported an increase last year, according to Tacy Consultants.Although overall jewellery and watch sales in France were down by four per cent, gold jewellery sales made up $3.75 billion of total $6.6 billion sales. In addition, gold plated and nine carat gold jewellery made up $780 million of sales. Gold jewellery firms in France include Bijoux, Cartier International, Van Cleef & Arpels and Charles Perroud. Additional figures show that watch sales made up $1.29 billion of total jewellery and watch retail sales in France.
