India reveals world's most expensive waistbandThursday, 4th November 2004 (4280 views) An Indian jeweller has created a golden Kamarbandh, said to be the most expensive in the world.The waistband is made of a kilogram of gold and is studded with 8000 diamonds. Currently on display at Lifestyle shop in Hyderabad, the item is worth two crore rupees. Ishi jewellery, which created the piece, believes it will be popular with women as a fashionable accessory. Mehzabeen Raza, the model who has been wearing the item told Web India: "People are becoming more fashion conscious. I do not think they would mind to go for it. "Today, the fashion trend is retro-style. Saree being the traditional outfit, the Kamarbandh looks really nice with a saree." The waistband took two months to complete and is pink and white in colour.
