New jewellery range unveiled at JC Penney

US department store JC Penney has announced it is to start selling a new range of jewellery, decorated with a special man made gem.

The retailer is using moissanite jewellery supplied by a local firm Charles & Colvard, which uses a specially created jewel that is a lower price than diamonds but simulates its sparkle.

Beryl Raff, J.C. Penney's senior vice president and general merchandise manager for fine jewellery told National Jeweler: "Moissanite brings new meaning to the phrase 'affordable luxury'. It's the ideal choice for women who appreciate fine quality and expect exceptional value."

The new range will include pendants, rings, bracelets and earrings in 14 carat yellow and white gold.

Items will be available in 460 stores, online and in the JC Penney catalogues and trunk shows will beheld to promote the range.
