The leading bullion trader in India, MMTC, has announced it is to hold a gold festival this month to display the latest jewellery collections.<BR/><BR/>'Festival of Gold 2004' will be held on October 18-24 in New Delhi and will show more than 50,000 items made by more than 5,000 craftsmen from all across India.<BR/><BR/>This will be the seventh edition of the event, which sees each piece of gold jewellery certified for purity by MMTC.<BR/><BR/>It is hoped the event will allow consumers and traders to interact and view the latest trends, with a mix of ethnic and modern designs.<BR/><BR/>MMTC is one of a number of agencies appointed by the government to control the importing of gold, silver and platinum in India.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3539428"/>
