Monday, 4th October 2004 (8307 views) Jewellery Arabia 2004 is to officially begin tomorrow, set to be opened in a special ceremony with prime minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).<BR/><BR/>Over 500 companies from across the world are taking part in the event, with a host of jewellery to be showcased including gold jewellery and luxury watches, all worth a total of around $1 billion.<BR/><BR/>Companies involved in the event include Cartier, Patek Phillipe and Van Cleef & Arples, according to Gulf Daily News.<BR/><BR/>In addition, for the first time at this event, Brazil will play a part with a whole pavilion dedicated to jewellery from the area and co-ordinated by the Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association.<BR/><BR/>Issues to be covered at the event include retail packaging, jewellery manufacturing machinery and technology.<BR/><BR/>A special fashion show is also being where international models will display the latest collections in India.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3531292"/>
