Gem and jewellery event planned for MumbaiThursday, 26th August 2004 (4670 views) Following the success of the International Gems & Jewellery Exhibition last year, the event is due to be held again in September.This year the Gems & Jewellery Exhibition will be held in Mumbai in the Bombay Exhibition Centre and will feature more than 120 exclusive brands under one roof. According to Hindu Business Line, the key aim of the expo is to bring all traders, designers and manufacturers together, along with different sectors of the industry such as gold, white gold and machinery. Mr Pankaj Saraiya, director of Avon Weighing Systems, which is holding the event, said: "An exhibition like this will cater to the growing demand and is an ideal platform to showcase Indian designs to the domestic as well as international markets." As well as getting the chance to view a host of jewellery collections, there will also be technology updates and seminars taking place. Industry figures from all over India and abroad are set to take part in the event, which will house 200 stalls.
