Wednesday, 11th August 2004 (5396 views) The recently launched eyeball jewellery is now trying to make its mark on US consumer's eyes as it moves to LA.<BR/><BR/>One ophthalmologist has been reassuring consumers the procedure is safe and is the first one in the US to perform the procedure.<BR/><BR/>Robert K. Maloney, director of Los Angeles' Maloney Vision Institute offers the eyeball jewellery for $3,900 for a process which takes around 15 minutes.<BR/><BR/>However, although Mr Maloney claims the jewellery is as safe as coloured contact lenses many other members of his field have raised concerns.<BR/><BR/>According to Big News Network, other US ophthalmologists are worried the jewellery may cause chronic eye redness, irritation and maybe even infection.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3212190"/>
