Henry Birks & Sons, a 125-year-old Canadian jewellery company has revealed it is to open its first US based manufacturing and product development centre.

A former employee of Tiffany's is already group vice president of supply chain operations for Birks and mayors as part of the new move.

Gold product development will now be focused at the new facility along with silver and gemstones pieces.
