Friday, 6th August 2004 (5562 views) The US division of the UK-based Signet Group has revealed that its comparable store sales saw a 6.8 per cent increase for the second quarter.<BR/><BR/>In addition for the first six months the company reported 8.2 per cent growth in its comparable store sales.<BR/><BR/>Terry Burman, Signet Group chief executive told Professional Jeweler: "The group continued to perform well in the second quarter a strong result in a changeable retail environment."<BR/><BR/>Additional figures showed that total group sales in the second quarter increased by 8.7 per cent.<BR/><BR/>Among the stores included under the Sterling group are Kay Jewelers and Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, as well as regional stores.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3177626"/>
