Unique senator's jewellery to go on displayMonday, 26th July 2004 (4054 views) A US senator is trying something a little different, as the only member of Congress to make jewellery.Colorado Republican Ben Nighthorse Campbell, aged 71, will also be displaying his work in a solo art show, also not done by anyone else in Congress. According to 9news.com, Mr Campbell's work will be on display at the Smithsonian Institution when it opens its National Museum of the American Indian. Mr Campbell is leaving office early next year after serving in Congress since 1983, however he has been making jewellery for longer - since 1946. In the past the family reportedly made jewellery to make money to afford basic needs such as food.
