De-Lovely jewellery harks back to golden eraWednesday, 21st July 2004 (4412 views) The upcoming summer film 'De-Lovely' - depicting the story of legendary Jazz musician Cole Porter - offers a glimpse into the heady days of art deco gold jewellery and fashions which experts say could be revived.Clothes from Giorgio Armani are featured in the film - which stars Kevin Kline - as well as pieces from jeweller Fulco di Verdura. The impeccable style and accuracy brings home a world of luxury and fashion - indeed, the jewellery worn by Ashley Judd playing Linda Porter includes some original di Verdura pieces. Ms Porter, who often wore di Verdura pieces, eventually landed the designer a job with Chanel. The film could help to spark a mini-revival of the art deco style, bringing back the bold designs and exquisite finery that characterised the period.
