Wednesday, 14th July 2004 (3982 views)

It is not just the athletes going for gold in this year's Olympics, with the fashion industry being heavily influenced by the event.

According to the Shanghai Daily News, jewellery has been given a touch of gold, in line with the sporting event.

Recently gold jewellery was focused on at the I-Style Gold Expressions fashion show of Italian jewellery in the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center.

Trends at the show helped highlight the latest gold accessories and proved the Olympics were a big influence.

A total of 24 top models displayed nearly 400 pieces of jewellery at the event, which was organised by the WGC and the Arezzo Promotion Center.

Most pieces take on a young, fun look although still remaining sophisticated with loosely looped chains, geometric pendants and crocheted gold wire.
