The India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2004 starts soon.<BR/><BR/>The country's premier jewellery exhibition, organised by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), will be held at the new Godrej Complex in Vikhroli, Mumbai, between July 15th and 19th.<BR/><BR/>A total of 580 exhibitors are due to take part in this year's five-day event, according to News Today, 355 of which hail from Mumbai. 82 of the participating companies are from Jaipur, 34 from Delhi, 30 from Chennai, and 12 from Kolkata. The exhibition will also play host to 61 international companies from countries.<BR/><BR/>Delegates from countries including Bangladesh, Italy, Egypt and Japan, will look around the 1,173 stalls - 970 jewellery, 139 machinery and 64 allied. <BR/><BR/>Indian gems and jewellery exports grew by 31 per cent last fiscal year, reaching $12 billion and surpassing analysts' expectations. During April - May 2004 exports rose to $1842.18 million, up from $1218.34 million in the same period last year, an increase of 51 per cent. <BR/><BR/>The organisers of IIJS 2004 have joined forces with the National Institute of Design (NID) and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to promote new jewellery design.<BR/><BR/>IIJS, one of Asia's largest gem and jewellery trade shows, is a B2B (business-to-business) exhibition aimed at providing a platform for Indian and international companies to interact and develop new business ventures.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=6021677"/>
